In his book "The Heart of Christianity" , Marcus Borg writes about faith and belief, explaining what these really mean. He also says: BEING CHRISTIAN MEANS AFFIRMING THE REALITY OF GOD; CHRISTIAN FAITH MEANS AFFIRMING THE CENTRALITY OF JESUS; CHRISTIAN FAITH MEANS AFFIRMING THE CENTRALITY OF THE BIBLE. We shall explore how Marcus elaborates on these statements in a way that is meaningful in the context of our age.

Friedrich Nietzsche was a brilliant nineteenth-century German scholar, born to a long line of Lutheran clergymen. But he himself came to reject their beliefs and held instead that God is dead. Nietzsche contended for a philosophy that is "beyond good and evil". In place of what he dismissed as conventional "herd morality", he championed the radical morality of the Superman. It may be relevant that Nietzsche's lifestyle led him to contract syphilis and for the last decade of his life he was insane. So why does his philosophy continue to attract such interest?

We meet usually in the prayer room at the back of the main hall.
