Proof in Science and in Faith

Raphael Hirschi is lecturer in Astrophysics at Keele University. He gave a talk about his work and his faith several months ago and this was recorded. We will use that as a basis for our online meeting. If anyone wants to join our meeting online please contact Nigel via PCN; you can then be sent the details for joining and the link. You can also be sent the recording, since it could be useful to see the questions and key points that Raphael raises in advance of the meeting.

The Pilgrim Fathers; their story for us today

This year marks the 400th anniversary of the transatlantic voyage of the Mayflower, carrying a group of “pilgrims” from this country to the New World. They saw it in terms of a journey from Egypt or Babylon to the Promised Land. Who were the persecutors whom they were fleeing? The Church of England! Was this an early example of Liberation Theology? And if so, what lessons are there for us? Come and discuss!

Location:
Friends Meeting House, Miller St. Newcastle under Lyme ST5 1QJ
