What does prayer mean to us? Is it something we do, something we experience, part of who we are...? This evening will be an opportunity for us consider this strange practice that Jesus exhorts us to participate in regularly. We will briefly reflect on our own understanding of what prayer is, and how this might have changed through the journey of our lives. Gill will offer some thoughts about what it can mean for people from different backgrounds and beliefs . . . some of whom may be fellow members of your worshipping community.

Gill is a Quaker who has a deep love of the natural world. She lives on the slopes of the Malvern Hills where she loves walking her dogs and she worships at both Worcester Quaker Meeting and occasionally at the village Anglican church. Gill leads quiet days and contemplative retreats in a range of settings, focussing on finding inner stillness and peace, and offering teaching around prayer, discernment and spiritual practices. When offering Spiritual Accompaniment, she aims to create a sacred, safe space in which a person of any faith, or indeed none, is gently nurtured and encouraged to explore their connection with the Divine, and become open to deeper possibilities of Spirit. Gill works face to face and using on-line visual media (e.g. Zoom) both nationally and internationally. Before retiring in 2019, she worked at Woodbrooke Quaker Study Centre as Spirituality Tutor and co-ordinator of the two year Equipping for Ministry programme.
