Malvern Group Meeting – Jesus & people of other faiths
Thursday 11 January 2024
This evening’s meeting will start with a discussion about how we as Christians regard those of other faiths – there is no one “correct” way, but different “legitimate” Christian ways of looking at others. We will then have a presentation on how Jesus addressed those of other faiths in his life.

- Catherine Lack
herine Lack is Chair of the Worcestershire Interfaith Forum (WIFF). WIFF is dedicated to representing the interests and values of different faith communities, and we work together to build friendships and greater understanding at ground level. Current projects include a planned exhibition on “Pilgrimage” – in all faiths and none.
Catherine is a Christian priest (Anglican), and has been variously university chaplain, vicar, Warden of a Retreat House and Cultural & Religious Affairs Manager at Yarls Wood Immigration Centre, among other things. Her interest in interfaith was sparked by talking with university students: when first a university chaplain there were excellent facilities for Christian students, a not-very-good facility for Muslims, and nothing for anybody of any other faith. This has changed!
One of her initiatives while university chaplain was to organise events where students from the different faith societies shared a platform to discuss issues. Latterly, she was Chair of the “Chain of Peace” – a group of faith communities joining together right across the city of Newcastle.
Since arriving in Worcestershire she has organised “Scriptural Reasoning” sessions, where people of different faiths look at each others’ scriptures. Regular participants include Baha’i, Christian, Jewish & Muslim, and we look forward to others joining us.
