This conference will explore the challenges to policy and practice that arise when people cross borders to seek sanctuary. Specifically, it addresses the question of what the Christian response to those who seek care and shelter in our country should be, and asks what insights can be derived from the life and work of Dietrich Bonhoeffer.

Speakers include Bishop Rose Hudson-Wilkin, Bishop of Dover, Dr Ulrich Schmiedel of the University of Edinburgh, an authority on religion and migration, and Rev Dr Keith Clements, a noted Bonhoeffer scholar. We will also be joined by groups who are currently working on the ground to meet the needs of asylum seekers and refugees in Calais, Kent, and the North of England.
