This is a hybrid event, in-person in Cambridge and on Zoom.

Join us for an evening with author and activist Brian McLaren as he discusses his latest book, "Life After Doom: Wisdom and Courage for a World Falling Apart".

In "Life After Doom", Brian delves into the pressing issues of our time, from climate breakdown to economic inequality, racial injustice, and religious corruption. He introduces the concept of ‘doom’ as a kind of pre-traumatic stress disorder caused by the deterioration of our old normal without a new one in sight.

He offers a sober analysis of today's global challenges and explore four possible future scenarios: Collapse Avoidance, Collapse/Rebirth, Collapse/Survival, and Collapse/Extinction. The book provides insights on how to live with courage and wisdom in our unstable world, support one another through turbulence, and maintain hope while accepting what cannot be changed.

This event is an invitation to learn to ‘dance with reality’, embracing both its doom and delight. Don’t miss the opportunity to engage in a meaningful conversation about how we can navigate our world’s challenges with resilience and hope.

Highlights:

Keynote Speech: Brian will present the key themes of "Life After Doom".

Q&A Session: Ask your pressing questions and gain deeper insights.
